About
My passion for fitness
I have been interested in health and fitness my whole life. I grew up in a small town of 300 people in Nazareth Texas where everyone is born and bread a basketball player. I played basketball many years until I injured my knee. After 2 major reconstructive surgeries, I gave it a break my senior year of High School. I hurt worse that year than I ever had, so thats when I decided I need to continue to be active. In college I played every intramural sport you could imagine and the gym became my second home.
The more group exercise classes I took, the more I wanted to make Health and Fitness a career. At that time, I was an interior design major, but soon changed to study Kinesiology and Health Promotion. To help advance my career I started working at the UNT Student Recreation Center. I got my Personal Training and Primary Group Exericise certifications and was on my way. I taught Indoor Cycling, Bootcamp, and ABS classes and personal trained on the side. After college I got an offer to manage 2 Curves Fitness centers in Lake Dallas and Denton Texas. I learned so much during my time there. I taught a diet class and learned alot about all the different struggles people had trying to maintain or lose weight. After my time at Curves, I moved onto be a Health and Fitness Speialist for a corporate fitness center with about 3,000 employees. In August I was promoted to Assistant Program Manager and love every minute of it! It is my passion to help people acheive their goals and improve their health.
